Do not be afraid.. there are those who are really fighting for you. Some of them aren't. That said, there is a difference between immature idiots and true hackers.
True hackers find things that could otherwise be used to hurt you and their goal is to bring these problems to the attention of companies that could have fixed it from the start, but chose not to.
What makes this more compelling is the fact that even with that, some of them still don't.
